Our team

Since 1968

The Jeroen Bosch Instititute is one of The Netherlands leading training centres. We have been offering training in 25 world languages since 1968. The Jeroen Bosch Institute began in 's Hertogenbosch and later moved to Vught. After the present owner/managing director Hans Hermes took the institute over in 2004 the Arnhem Talencentrum was added, in 2005. In addition to the branches in Vught and Arnhem there are now also branches in Maastricht, Germany (Kleve), Spain (Barcelona) and China (Xi'an).

In addition to this considerable increase in locations we have also extended our course package. Since September 2009 the Jeroen Bosch Institute has had M and M+ courses on offer (the M stands for masterclass or manager).
M and M+ courses go one step further than the language and communication training you have come to expect from us and other Dutch language institutes. They are aimed at the higher educated and middle and upper management.

See M & M+ courses.

Our Teachers

All our teachers are highly qualified 'native' speakers and teach only in their mother tongue. As well as having a sound language knowledge and didactic ability every trainer has an excellent general knowledge. Each department ensures their teachers are kept constantly up to date with the very latest developments in language teaching.

Multimedia Centre

All our schools are equipped with a multimedia centre which provides additional support for each language course.

In the course of the academic year 2009-2010 each of our schools will become equipped with HD-videoconferencing equipment. The purpose of this is to stimulate communication between locations and to learn from each other. Teachers and students from The Netherlands, Spain, Germany and China can, in this way, have direct live contact with each other in order to share experiences.

Guest lectures and complete courses can also be given from abroad.

Host families

For students who are with us for a longer period of time the Jeroen Bosch Institute likes to provide accomodation with a host family. This is the case in each location, also abroad. The big advantage and notable success of this arrangement is that the student is, as it were, completely immersed in the 'new' language and is thus more quickly able to get the hang of the language and is directly exposed to the customs of that land. The student can therefore move more easily through the land of the language s/he is learning.

There is a coordinator at each location who maintains contact with host families.

About Jeroen Bosch

Our institute is named after the famous Bosch painter Jheronimus (or Hiëronymus, or Jeroen) Bosch, who was born there around 1450 and died in August 1516. He was already renowned in his lifetime and painted by appointment to the king and dukes from around the world.

The line drawing is taken from what is assumed to be the only known portrait of him.

In 2016 it will be 500 years since his death. To celebrate this the city of Den Bosch will put its famous fellow townsman in the spotlight once again. The first festivities are already beginning in 2010.
