Dutch as a Second Language (NT2)
The Jeroen Bosch Institute has been providing language courses for 'Dutch as a Second Language' for many years. This course has been developed as an individually tailored course for non-Dutch speakers who want to integrate into Dutch society or wish to quickly master the language for schooling, work or social-economic reasons. The intensive course is given in our institutes in Vught and Arnhem and in addition to the language component also gives attention to cultural differences, manners, customs and other relevant aspects of Dutch society.
State Exam NT2
In our institute we regularly train students in preparation for the state exam (programme I and programme II) with a great deal of success. Naturally we know exactly which standards have to be met in order to successfully take the exam.
Dutch (NT1)
In addition to Dutch as a second language our institute also specialises in courses for people who have already mastered the language but still have some skills to learn or need to refresh their knowledge.
For example:
- A 'refresher course' in the areas of grammar and spelling. Your memory of Dutch grammar and spelling rules is refreshed in a few days.
- Reporting. You have to regularly produce written reports for your work. How do you make such a report, how do you build it up, give it structure? Specialised teachers help you with this kind of question.
- Correspondence. What is the latest fashion regarding business letters? How do you give a letter structure, how do you order it? You get to work with an experienced teacher.
- Telephoning. Your workers seem to have problems dealing with various telephone calls in the appropriate way. Our institute can offer you help with this.
Dutch on the workfloor
Many companies, especially manufacturing companies, employ foreign workers with a lack of the Dutch language. This can hinder their progress or promotion chances because new functions often demand more comprehension, oral skills and written ability.
The Jeroen Bosch Institute in Vught and Arnhem has provided courses in 'Dutch on the Workfloor' for many years. This course has been specially developed as a tailor made course for the above mentioned target group. Both the oral and the written skills of the student are brought up to a good level. Naturally we also spend time on trade jargon as well as the terminology and concepts which relate to existing or new functions. Dutch on the workfloor is in principle a group course and is generally given on location.
As you can see we are at home in every work situation. If you have questions about specific courses then please don't hesitate to contact us, either by email or telephone.
All our courses can be followed either at the institute or on location. You can follow a course part-time, take a crash course or in module form. For further information contact the administration office, you can find the telephone numbers here.
Dutch for Expats
Knowledge of the Dutch language is of great advantage to foreign employees who are coming to the Netherlands for a long or short stay because they can progress more easily, not only at work but also in Dutch society. During an intensive course at one of our institutes the employee is made familiar with written and spoken Dutch and, in addition to the language, time is also spent on Dutch society and its customs and values. Dutch for expats is, like all our other courses, given by professional, specialised teachers with much experience.
Dutch for the Care Sector
The care sector in the Netherlands has for some time found it difficult to fill vacancies in certain functions with qualified personnel. On the other hand there are - in particular in the recently joined members of the European Union, eastern Europe and the Far East - well-educated doctors and nurses fighting for the chance to work here. What prevents them is often a limited knowledge of the Dutch language.
Specialised Dutch Courses
Our institute has years of experience in providing Dutch language courses for these target groups. The (intensive) course is held in our schools but, with a large enough group, can also take place on location. In addition to the language component attention is of course given to specific sector jargon and also cultural differences, manners, customs and other relevant aspects of Dutch society.
MSRC exams
The official MSRC (medical specialist registration commission) exams take place at the Jeroen Bosch Institute. Therefore we know exactly how to train foreign specialists and which standards they have to meet in order to successfully pass the exam.
