On the other hand many Germans know to come to Kleve for the Dutch language and for courses in business English because of the Dutch reputation for high quality language training.
The city of Kleve
Where the Rhine leaves Germany and in The Netherlands splits into the Rhine and the Waal, is where you will find Kleve. It is a former royal residence and the stately Schwanenburg towers over the city.
Kleve is surrounded by unique, unspoilt nature and has wonderful monuments and lovely baroque parks.
The attractive pedestrian area at the base of the Schwanenburg is great for shopping. On Fridays and Saturdays especially many Dutch people pop over the border to do their shopping here.
The gastronomic pleasures are many and are characterised by an abundant choice and stylish ambience. An extensive cultural life completes the picture.
Kleve has interesting museums, such as Kurhaus Kleve, which exhibits modern art in an historic building dating from the 17th Century, the artists residence Koekkoek, and last but not least the magical Schloss Moyland is also situated close to Kleve.
In the area surrounding Kleve are lovingly restored city parts dating from the Middle Ages, between the main body of the Rhine and the German-Dutch border. In the towns and villages are sculpture parks, museums and cafes in historic buildings.
