Xi'an		Danger and opportunity are the two Chinese symbols for crisis. It is becoming more and more clear that new economic and political powers are emerging in the far east, in particular China and India. If we as the Jeroen Bosch Institute wish not only to be a language but also a communication centre then it goes without saying that expansion - and especially co-operation - is not only necessary within Europe, but definitely also in the Far East. After a number of failed attempts to establish themselves in China, we can proudly say that we are the first Dutch language institute to succeed, together with a Chinese partner, in establishing a working relationship, in the form of a joint venture. The name of our Chinese company is Jeroen Bosch Communication Centre China.
Our partner, Xbjob, is the recruitment and selection office in the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi province. The working relationship between the European locations and JBCCC should result in a daily, lively exchange of ideas between teachers and students, support for courses and the giving of guest lectures. This will be achieved by the installation of hd-videoconferencing equipment in all locations. See also Online language support & Distance learning.

Chinese in the Netherlands

Chinese for beginners

The core book for this course is Colloquial Chinese, The Complete Course for Beginners. The Chinese learned is Mandarin Chinese. Beside the language much attention is given to the culture in which the language operates. Starting dates for 2010 will follow as soon as possible.

The maximum group size is six people. With less than four people the course won't take place, but you will be informed in plenty of time if this is the case. The lessons take place in Vught and Arnhem. For further information contact xian@instituutjeroenbosch.nl.

Chinese for Advanced Learners

Basic knowledge of Mandarin is a requirement for this course! Because the ability level can vary a lot the advanced courses are not group but individual courses. Course material is decided in consultation with the teacher after the intake procedure. The costs for a course of 30 lesson hours are:

West meets East

A Sino-European workshop for business people

When the East and the West meet, there is bound to be misunderstandings. That is not only frustrating for those directly involved, but can also result in huge financial implications for companies. Our inter-cultural workshops make participants aware of their own culture first in order to better understand how to function within the another one.

Intercultural workshop

The objective of this training is to enhance practical cross-cultural behavioural and communication competencies for doing business or dealing with the Chinese.
