Tests
The Jeroen Bosch Institute uses various tests to evaluate your level of language knowledge at the start of the course. In his way we can put together a tailor-made course and you can more efficiently learn the language of your choice. There are tests available for four different skills, namely: speaking, writing, listening and reading
Basic test
Entry tests are available for all our languages. From this a course is developed which corresponds exactly to your present knowledge and expectations.
Content
The basic test consists of a written and spoken section. Your starting level is decided on the basis of this test and together with your teacher you can tailor your course to your needs. The test can also be used to indicate what your strong points and weak points are.
Cost
This test is a standard part of the no obligation, free intake procedure.
Bulats computer test
Especially for students following Business traning in English, French or German, we make use of the new Bulats computer test. This is the only test which gives a precise score according to the European Framework. This test also enables us to assess your entry level.
The test is adaptive
Each candidate receives several short questions at an intermediate level. Guided by the given answer (correct or incorrect) the computer takes the following question from its database, hereby not only taking the level of the candidate into account, but also different types of question from the four skill areas (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
As a consequence the length of the test is not set: the computer carries on asking questions until a consistent level of knowledge can be measured and the level of language ability can be stated. Fast, reliable and completely objective! This makes every test virtually unique and reduces the chance of cheating to zero.
CEF is the European measuring stick for language knowledge
Your level is established by using the Common European Framework for Languages (Council of Europe).
The authors
Cambridge University, wrote the framework programme and made use of all their knowhow and knowledge from other language exams in order to provide the content for the English test, the most respected members of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE). Alliance Francaise and the Goethe Institute wrote the content for the French and German exams respectively.
Management Section
A secure part allows those responsible for HR and recruitment to analyse the test results. These details can be exported in Excel and so uploaded onto any database.
Cost
The cost for the Bulats computer test is 70 Euro.
Results
The internal Bulats score is graded between 0-100 and is directly adjusted to the CEF and the ALTE scale. Bulats score are mainly informative and indicative.
