Jeroen Bosch and Belgium
The Jeroen Bosch Institute has been well known is Belgium for over 30 years. Our southern neighbours come to Vught, Arnhem and Maastricht mainly to improve their Dutch.
In the course of the years our Dutch teachers have gained much experience in giving lessons to French speakers of all levels of ability, from beginner to advanced.

Young adults in particular come throughout the year or in the summer to follow a course from 8 to 18 weeks. They receive lessons in small groups (max. 10 students per group) and stay with host families. In this way they also have the opportunity to speak Dutch in their free time, an ideal situation: learning Dutch and putting it into practice with Dutch people. They also learn a lot about Dutch culture and customs from their host 'parents'.

We organise two sessions: from September to January and from February to June, which meet the standard of the "Marshall Plan". It is also possible to receive a scholarship from the Belgian government for this course. In July and August young people from the age of 15 can come to us for a holiday programme in which language lessons are combined with various leisure activities.

The teachers who provide lessons for these young people in Belgium also regularly come to the Institute. A programme is available to them in which they can refresh their language, discover new teaching methods and browse in the culture.

The Jeroen Bosch Institute organises special monthly courses for work seekers. The groups are smaller (max. 6 students) and the lessons focus on business Dutch. These students also stay with host families in the local area.

These last two course can be considered for a subsidie from FOREM.

Last but not least there are the many Belgian companies who make use of the services offered by our training centres. They send their employees to The Netherlands to follow tailor made courses. They receive a programme which combines private lessons with the language laboratory and is completely adapted to their level and needs. These people don't only come to learn Dutch. Some register for a training in (business) English, German, Spanish, Italian or one of the other 25 languages which are taught at the Institute.

The Jeroen Bosch Institute is also an examination centre for the "Dutch as a Foreign Language Certificate" of the Dutch Language Union. These exams take place in the beginning of May every year at the Institute. Our teachers prepare you for these exams with various courses.
